artifungus is a space to do biodesign and play for sustainability.

artifungus animated mark

The project began with an observation that kept repeating: the most effective approaches to material problems are already designed by nature. Fungi bind agricultural waste into solid shapes, shellfish build with what water leaves behind, and nothing they make becomes permanent trash.

Working as a designer means moving between scales: reading the science, sorting a household's waste, growing a strain in a bag, and writing down what failed. This archive collects that process rather than only its outcomes.

The name joins artifice and fungus. One part is manufactured, the other is grown, and the work sits where the two meet.
